今天起床收到PocketMac公司的邮件，被告知PM for BB已经升级了。 据了解，这是PM for BB被RIM收编官方软件以来的第一个版本，于是马上下载试用。 用iBook1.33+BB7230测试同步，速度果然提高不少， 而且可以兼容同步的BB设备和Desktop端软件也多了不少， 同时开始支持E-mail和Bookmark同步， 然而最让我兴奋的改进是可以直接在Mac安装软件到BB，不需再经过PC。 不过遗憾的是还不能支持中文的同步，但是由于很少在BB使用中文，这一点对我没什么影响。 哦，忘了说新版本脱离iSync了，也是一点小小的遗憾吧。 What’s New In This Release? *Application Loading–Now, PocketMac for BlackBerry can install 3rd party applications and games directly from your Mac to your BlackBerry. *E-Mail Synchronization–You can sync your email messages from either Mail.app or Microsoft Entourage back and forth from your Mac and Blackberry. *MeetingMaker Support–With this new release, MeetingMaker users can synchronize data between MeetingMaker and your BlackBerry. *IBM Lotus® Notes® Support–You can now synchronize data between Lotus Notes and your BlackBerry handheld. *Intel Duo Mac support–You can run this version on both PowerPC and Intel Macs. *3rd Party Software Store–We’ve included special links to a PocketMac customers-only 3rd party software store with software that we’ve made sure will work from your Mac to your BlackBerry. *Support for the BlackBerry Pearl™–with this new version, you’ll be able to map the MicroSD memory card as an external USB Mass Storage device on your desktop, allowing you to transfer music, pictures, videos and much more. *Support for the BlackBerry 8700 and 8703 models–you can now sync all models of BlackBerry 8700 and 8703 handhelds. *Categories-Based Selective Synchronization–With this new release, you can synchronize specific categories of calendars, contacts and much more. “DefectiveByDesign.org, a campaign by the Free Software Foundation, is making Oct 3rd a Day Against DRM: ‘Defeating DRM is all about awareness. The direct actions that we have taken are all about this. Today we are asking you to let the people around you know that DRM is bad for our society. Let’s create space for the debate. Do we want handcuffs and locks on art and knowledge? As our friends at Disney recognize, if there is this debate, we will have won.’” Bayboy adds an article from eWeek mentioning that members of DefectiveByDesign.org are going to descend on flagship Apple stores in New York and London to protest the company’s embrace of DRM. And Another AC writes, “In honor of the Day Against DRM, DreamHost has released a new service called Files Forever (for Dreamhost customers only during beta) This seems to be basically an iTunes Music Store that anybody can sell any sort of files through… as long as they have no DRM. Dreamhost handles all the payment processing and stores the file forever, offering unlimited re-downloads to end users who buy files through the service. When somebody buys a file they’re even allowed to ‘loan’ it to others for free!”

昨晚，Apple推出了OS 10.4.8的升级文件，于是马上升级，发现一个问题：FrontRow不能使用了。 打开升级包，发现以下两个文件升级了： /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/BezelServices.framework/Versions/A/BezelServices /System/Library/LoginPlugins/BezelServices.loginPlugin/Contents/MacOS/BezelServices 显然是FrontRow Enabler对这两个文件的破解被升级包覆盖！ 于是重新运行Enabler，灾难发生了！ OS无法正常启动，在进入系统前就停住。 怀疑Enabler对以上文件的修改和新的OS 10.4.8不兼容！ 想还原以上两个文件，但此时已无法进入系统。 于是找到身边另一台Mac，在出事的机器上按住t启动，进入火线磁盘模式，用另一个10.4.8系统的没修改过的那两个文件覆盖出事机器的文件，重器出事机器，终 于正常进入系统。 但是修复后FrontRow就无法打开了。 大家如果需要FrontRow的话千万别急于升级，等新的Enabler吧，避免不必要的麻烦咯。 *以上指直通过Enabler安装FrontRow的系统，对于直接可以装上的机器应该没有影响的，如果你的机器可以直接装上FrontRow的话，可以放心升级，不会遇到上述问题。
